That Transforms Ordinary Paint Into An Energy Saving Radiant Heat Barrier What is a radiant barrier?
Radiant barriers work by reducing heat transfer by thermal radiation.
These materials when applied to buildings reduce summer heat gain and winter heat loss.

HEATSHIELD-R20: A very fine white powder that is a combination of premium selected hollow  microspheres that reflect and dissipate heat.

HEATSHIELD-R20 reflects and dissipates radiant heat, reducing heat transfer through roofs, attics, exterior & interior walls, ceilings, or any other paintable surface that absorbs heat.

The introduction of HEATSHIELD-R20 is directly due to research done through the NASA technology exchange program. Their similar ceramic technology was used to dissipate heat from the Space Shuttle upon atmospheric re-entry, preventing the shuttle from burning.

Reflective coatings have been on the market for some time but were not available to the general public. These expensive products were marketed mostly to commercial/industrial business and large corporations that have reported as much as 40% savings on their heating & cooling expenses.
These percentages will vary due to building architecture ambient temperature and climate.
Before HEATSHIELD-R20 this reflective coating material could only be obtained in pre-mixed coatings.

It is now easy and inexpensive to mix HEATSHIELD-R20 with any paint.
White or light colored paints are recommended for best results.
Left over paint can be mixed with HEATSHIELD-R20 at a super savings for a reflective coating.

HEATSHIELD-R20 is highly recommended mixed into elastomeric metal roof coatings.
Metal roofs (being super energy conductors) are a major cause of high interior heat.
A metal roof can transfer up to 95% of solar radiation transferring it directly to the building interior.
Elastomeric coatings allow for panel contraction and expansion and have excellent reflective properties of their own. These coatings mixed with HEATSHIELD-R20 can lower interior temperatures 15 to 20 degrees.
